Artist Statement
I started learning drawing and painting in teen age in middle school; then, I paint real objects and figures in realism style using techniques and colors. However, my lines and colors indicated a strong expression, and my style was expressionism.
The revolution and war was the dominate atmosphere in Iran; the atmosphere affected my artworks. The distortion and exaggeration became main part of my paintings. Time passed and I had trips with my university classmate to different cities in Iran. I was fascinated by the strong culture and textiles in the cities that developed my artistic way toward mixed media. Finding exciting materials to juxtapose with colors and spaces in painting developed my paintings as mixed media. I completed my thesis indicating conceptual art. It was a performance performed by my brother who was a professional actor. Since I have started mixed media, I have had many works which express my idea.
